Leclerc's rage and grief after his accident

The image of Charles Leclerc‘s Ferrari hitting the wall at the French Grand Prix will undoubtedly be one of the most memorable of the championship, even more so after Max Verstappen‘s victory, which puts him even further ahead in the championship.

And the Ferrari driver knew it right after his heartbreaking exclamation of displeasure on the radio to his team, which made clear the Monegasque’s grief.

That accident could cost him the World Championship. Even more so against a rival like Red Bull and Verstappen, who don’t seem to be in the mood to make mistakes even if there is half a season to go.

Leclerc could not believe what was happening to him, he could not find any comfort. The stewards themselves tried to console him but they were unable to do so.

As soon as he got out of the seat, he hit the car in a clear sign of frustration and disbelief. Nobody had expected the accident, least of all him, who had been riding calmly for 18 laps at the front.

Later he said a sentence that was probably already in his head at the time.

“If I keep making mistakes like that, I don’t deserve to win the championship,” he said after the race.

Ferrari’s support

But Leclerc is not alone. This was shown from the Ferrari pit box when he arrived after the accident. Everyone wanted to get closer to give encouragement to the driver, who was still devastated.

It’s a mistake, but the people from Maranello decided to show their support of Leclerc.

Shortly afterwards, they uploaded a video on their main social networks showing precisely this support for the Monegasque. “We believe in you,” they said, with confidence in their driver.

Matteo Binnoto himself hugged him and had a chat with him just before he went back into his garage. He wanted to comfort his pupil, who also wanted to seek the support of his people by going to greet them one by one. Perhaps also as a sign of an apology.

“It’s days like yesterday that make you stronger. We are behind you every step of the way,” they said in another of the tweets as a sign of support for their driver.
