The F1 and FIA have obtained assurances that it’s secure for the race to occur
The FIA and Method 1 have launched a joint assertion saying that Sunday’s Saudi Arabian Grand Prix will go forward, regardless of some huge doubts across the competitors in latest days.
There have been fears that the occasion must be cancelled following missile assault at an oil depot in Jeddah forward of the race.
“Method 1 and the FIA can affirm that following discussions with all of the groups and drivers, the 2022 FIA Method 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix will proceed as scheduled,” the assertion reads.
“Following the broadly reported incident that passed off in Jeddah on Friday, there was in depth dialogue between all stakeholders, the Saudi authorities authorities and safety businesses who’ve given full and detailed assurances that the occasion is safe.
“It has been agreed with all stakeholders to keep up a transparent and open dialogue all through the occasion and for the longer term.”
Qualifying will happen on Saturday at 17:00 GMT.
